Now this is my kind of bicycle calming speed bump. I have three options: Ride to the left of it. Ride to the right of it. Hit it and fly up in the air and say "whee!"
As seen in Helsinki.

This looks like something done by someone you'd call "mister headwind".
Yes, this is rather daft. Consider this: If you ride a bike on that pavement, you are not very likely to ride in the middle, are you? That would be as sensible as riding in a tram track.
... and to add to the bizarreness of it all, I have trouble imagining anyone going at particularly high speeds what with the unevenness of the pavers...
I'm sure this slab of plastic must be enormously popular, to boot, with people pushing baby perambulators. :-/
After the water company dug up one of the main roads in London with a cycle lane, they seem to have left it with a series of mini speed bumps that are quite noticeable on the bike.

Talk about pointless...

It's a brilliant idea. Less baby trams and shopping trolleys on the path.

We have this goofy little bike path speed bump in Santa Cruz.
Where in Helsinki is this?

Were you in Helsinki?! Next time make sure to come to greet us at Kaupunkifillari!
I think I would go for the last option, unless I have a bag full of groceries in the back :).
