City of Cyclists

Please can you tell me what the simple pictogram at 00:40 in the second video means. It looks like a cyclist in silhouette from behind. As far as I know, we do not have them in the U.K.

It's the symbol for The Green Wave. Stretches of streets with the traffic lights coordinated for cyclists. If you cycle 20 km/h you'll hit green lights all the way into the city centre.

Might I point out that you won't find anybody trumpeting Los Angeles as "The City of Drivers".

Thank you. Now I know why we don't have such a pictogram in the U.K.. I live in Exeter, on of the "Cycling demonstration towns" and the official cycling map (http://www.devon.gov.uk/excguide.pdf) highlights (yellow) "quieter roads suitable for cycling" and (green) "traffic free cycle route". Many of the latter, it may be noted, are well away from the city centre.
