Well now this is good fun. ESPN's Tony Kornheiser on Cyclists: "RUN THEM DOWN"

Suck it up, buttercup.

I'm not sure about letting those fuckwits on the road in charge of a couple of tons of heavy machinery. In fact I don't think that they should be let out of their secure unit without a team of trained minders.

America is often good for fun, but often makes feel sad.
Run cyclists down, or ban of cycling in a small town . . .

But of course roads are for cars...

Sadly there are people out there who will take him seriously, rather than seeing him for the moron that he is.

Luckily, this mentality will keel over dead soon enough.

Believe it or not, ages ago this guy used to be funny. I'm shocked, like seeing someone you used to know suddenly show signs of mental illness. This is apparently an old clip, since the Penn Ave center lanes have been in for a while, I shouldn't be surprised there was no flap about this when it aired.

Less extreme, but I saw a DC news bit about the Penn lanes, the reporters had serious faces and started the piece with something like 'driving on Pennsylvania Avenue is about to get a lot more treacherous for cars'... sigh.

STR? "I don't think I own it, I own it, I have a car, a large powerful car compared to your stupid little bicycle".

Ridiculing the most vulnerable is "funny" and should be enjoyed by listeners and practiced by all those with "large powerful cars".

It's an attitude that seems to have occurred in the death of a cyclist in Toronto, Ontcario, North Americar - and no charges/penalties stuck. Sad... though the cyclist wasn't a "clean" cyclist - he was killed by a car where we were supposed to have a bike lane in the best place years ago.

He is the type of Person why there should be a whole lot more Dedicated Cycle Lanes. Car Drivers Domineering the Roads and not Respecting other Road Users like Cyclists and Pedestrians.

Car Drivers cannot be Trusted to Obey the Rules in spite of Speed Limit Signs and Speed Cameras.

It's people like him that make me rejoice that red-light cameras and speed cameras are popping up everywhere. Suck all the money out of their pockets. It'll make them seek other modes of transportation when they run out of money to pay these tickets. They always wanna make it seem like bikers are the bad guy, but these idiots never realize how dangerous they become when they're talking on the phone or worse - texting. And when they hit you? It's never their fault.

This is a bit of an old story, which caused a fairly large reaction from the cycling community here in DC, and caused Lance Armstrong to call in to the program and set him straight. Of course his crappy behavior was rewarded by having Lance (via phone) on his program, but for what it's worth (probably nothing) he did apologize for his words.

I say let's not give him any more attention. I'm not one for censorship, but certainly wish that wasn't on youtube.

Frightening, even if only intended as a joke. Shame on you, Tony Kornheiser. Your schtick may work on thick-headed machismo-driven shows like Pardon the Interruption, but you have certainly crossed the line, here. You should know better that your influence as a TV personality is [unfortunately] significant, and many of your fans may be more daft than the average bicycle enthusiast.

Remember: bicycles have been around longer than cars, and the roads are to be shared.

Oh, and you might want to consider wearing one of our "stupid-looking helmets" to cover up your shiny dome.

How about I go around saying this about other minority groups? What's the worst I can be charged with?
